Slipcasting with Wild Clay at Vuur Collective
The workshop explores slipcasting with foraged wild clay as a way to connect with local environments and trace the origins of our materials. The clay used was foraged in Italy as part of Clay Archives, an ongoing research initiative proposing foraging as an act of care and a form of activism.
Engaging with this raw material allows participants to explore the land’s geological history and its social, political, and ecological forces. Through the worksho, they leart how to identify and process wild clay, create multi-part moulds, and gain a comprehensive introduction to slip-casting.
